Теперь читаем security раздел в Опера–вском FAQ:

Is there any end-to-end security between my handset and — for example — paypal.com or my bank?
No. If you need full end-to-end encryption, you should use a full Web browser such as Opera Mobile.

Opera Mini uses a transcoder server to translate HTML/CSS/JavaScript into a more compact format. It will also shrink any images to fit the screen of your handset. This translation step makes Opera Mini fast, small, and also very cheap to use. To be able to do this translation, the Opera Mini server needs to have access to the unencrypted version of the Web page. Therefore no end-to-end encryption between the client and the remote Web server is possible.

Can Opera Software see my passwords and credit card numbers in clear text? What is the encryption good for then?
The encryption is introduced to protect the communication from any third party between the client (the browser on your handset) and the Opera Mini transcoder server. If you do not trust Opera Software, make sure you do not use our application to enter any kind of sensitive information.

Nokia asks ITC to ban iPhone, iPod, and MacBook imports, files another lawsuit against Apple.

Looks like Nokia is going all-out in its patent fight with Apple: in addition to the lawsuit it’s filed over GSM standards and last week’s International Trade Commission complaint, Espoo just filed a second complaint with the federal court, alleging that Apple’s infringing several “implementation patents” that cover everything from camera sensors to touchscreens. That’s three fronts in the same war, if you’re counting — the original regarding GSM patents, and these two latest over specific device technologies. The biggest bombshell so far is the ITC complaint, in which Nokia’s asking the commission to ban imports of basically every Apple mobile product from the MacBook to the iPhone for infringing its device patents — a strategy we’ve seen in other high-profile cases. Since the ITC has the ability to move quite quickly, we’d expect that case to be the primary battleground for the moment — but remember that Apple has plenty of its own incredibly broad patents of its own to fight back with here, so don’t expect a quick resolution. Looks like 2010 is going to be awfully good for these attorneys, don’t you think?

Так вот я думаю, что Apple начала достаточно сильно теснить Нокию, если эти уродцы пошли на это.

Читаю статью про очередного убивца iPhone-а (госпидя, сколько их уже было?)… Мотороллеровский Дроид на Адроиде 2.0. Двух фраз с меня хватило:

“The Droid ships with a 512 MB Flash memory which contains only 256 MB available for app storage. Google does not support installing apps to the SD card (and likely never will), so developers are limited in what they can create.” 

Посмотрел что установлено у меня на iPhone. Только Sygic (пошаговая GPS навигация) весит почти 400 мегобайт, а Myst – около 800 мегобайт, куча игр из AppStore – больше сотни мегов каждая. Ну и получается что Дроид будет ограничен проложениями типа простен-ких напоминалок и игр типа Минера. Мда… убивец. ХА-ХА!

Ушел за покупками

Мужик, после двух лет использования iPhone, пересел на Google G1″Dream”… помаялся с месячишко и вернул СИМ карту обратно в iPhone. Резюмируя свой опыт он говорит что G1 Dream слишком медленный, и те задачи, которые он решал на iPhone, он старался не делать на G1 Dream, и вообще “I think the G1 was just not ready to be the hardware for Android.”

Поскольку ребенок утопила свой старый мобильник, мне пришлось обновлять ее план и брать ей новый девайс. После рассмотрения возможных вариантов на сайте Оптуса и расстройств о том что N97 ей не светит, та выбрала E75. На следующий день приехал мобильник почтой. Вечером покрутил его в руках.  Честно говоря он произвел на меня значительно лучшее впечатление чем все предыдущие Нокии которыя я видел и которые у меня были. Однако… Помнится вот стада Нокло–поклонников/Вендамабилка–поклонников/прочих чумных, с пеной у рта, по всем форумам, орали что мол витруальная клавиатура iPhone–а ацтой и т.д. Ну вот попробовал физическую клаву на E75… Да просто ГОВНО. Почему?

1. Из–за физической клавы, телефон тежелее раза в полтора чем если–бы он был без нее.

2. Клава мелкая – мельче чем виртуальная клавиатура iPhone–а (в ландшафтном режиме)

3. Физические клавиши E75 “слепые”, т.е. они на ощупь не различимы отдна от другой.

Вопрос – НАХУЯ ПОПУ БАЯН? Накой черт нужна такая физическая клава – тяжелая, мелкая и практически не ощущаемая тактильно?
